Life on the team
As Manager Professional Services, you will be responsible for both people leadership and resource planning, ensuring the right expertise is aligned with project and customer needs. You will lead a team of Project Managers, Consultants & Engineers, support their development, and be a key contributor to delivering high-quality professional services.
In addition to managing day-to-day operations, you will play an active role in the broader commercial and operational success of the department. This includes taking ownership of relevant financial performance indicators and working closely with commercial teams during both pre-sales planning and post-sales delivery to ensure service excellence and business alignment.
What You'll Do
People Management
- Lead and manage a team of Project Managers, Consultants, Engineers, including all aspects of performance management, coaching, and development.
- Create and maintain training and development plans aligned with business goals.
- Ensure accurate and timely execution of administrative processes (e.g. timesheets, onboarding).
- Drive recruitment and onboarding of new team members.
- Foster an open, feedback-driven team culture where individuals feel valued and supported.
- Ensure the team remains focused on delivering excellent customer service and follows up on customer feedback.
Resource Planning
- Translate resourcing requirements into effective deployment of internal and external professionals.
- Build and maintain a strong network of external contractors and staffing agencies.
- Manage the recruitment, onboarding, and support of external resources.
- Collaborate with Resource and Service Managers to align long-term planning and pricing based on pipeline forecasts.
- Act as point of contact for international resourcing requests and systems development.
- Work closely with HR on contract management and administrative tasks.
Financial and Commercial Involvement
- P&L Ownership: Contribute to the financial performance of the department by managing key cost lines and understanding how your team's performance impacts the broader departmental P&L.
- Pre-Sales Support: Collaborate with commercial and bid teams during proposal development to ensure realistic resource planning and cost estimates.
- Post-Sales Execution: Oversee the resource execution of awarded projects, ensuring optimal delivery and customer satisfaction. Review and management of customer feedback.
What You'll Need
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent working level; experience in a similar leadership role.
- Strong leadership and coaching skills.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, commercial environment.
- Financial acumen and interest in managing cost, budget, or P&L elements.
- Excellent organizational and planning skills.
- Strong communication skills in English and Dutch.
- Proactive, solution-focused, and resilient under pressure.
- Confident in collaborating with sales, project management, and HR teams.
- Skilled in stakeholder management and able to influence others effectively.
